Wildlife in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is home to a wild range of animals one can only imagine: the country has hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Whether you stay in a town or in the middle of the jungle, the sounds are always incredible. So here are our favorite little creations, and you know what? You will meet many of them in your private garden while staying in Casa Lujo Caletas.

1.Scarlet macaw
One of the most unique experiences in Costa Rica (and in Casa Lujo Caletas) is waking up to the sound of these amazing birds. From our balcony, you will see a couple of red macaws flying above the trees every single day. Fun fact: just like many other parrots, scarlet macaws choose their partner for a lifetime, so they always fly together. Once one of them passes away, the other leaves this earth as well. Incredible, isn’t it?

2. White-Faced Capuchin Monkeys
These little monkeys are the most common ones in the whole country. They are playful and super interested in you, but also in your values, so always pay attention to your bag when visiting a beach nearby.

3. Great Kiskadee
Little yellow bird with a loud voice – these small creatures will make your days happy every single day, just by singing, chilling on your balcony, or secretly enjoying your infinity pool. Yes, don’t be surprised: they also love your crystal clear blue water with the amazing view.

4. Whales
Did you know that almost every coast of Costa Rica has the possibility to see whales and dolphins? Pay attention every second cause these beautiful animals can pop up on the surface at any moment.

5. Sloths
One of the cutest animals on the earth has a huge community in our beloved Costa Rica. And the best is that these chilled buddies will always wait for you to take your best pictures, even while crossing the main street in front of your car.

Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? Come and visit us in paradise and get the best out of your stay by enjoying your private home, exploring the area and joining amazing excursions.
